Show Jo Songs

Singing words uses a different part of the brain than saying the words. Music is a fun way to practice words.  It can also help children get through routines that might feel unpleasant to them such as washing hands!

You can make up your own simple, repetitive tune for a favorite activity.  Think of a familiar tune such as Row, Row, Row Your Boat or Skip to My Lou and add your own simple sentences.

For example:(to the "row your boat tune")Wash, Wash, Wash your hands, you will need some soap. Rinse, Rinse, Rinse your hands now there's no more soap.

Making the Show Jo Songs

My nephew Bob, my niece Tracy, my cousin Matt and my own Jo sang both of the Show Jo stories to a repetitive and catchy country style tune.
